Sarwanam Theatre Group, a leading theatre group of Nepal inaugurated its own art building, "Sarwanam Dramatic Art Centre" on 31st March 2012 in Kalikasthan, Kathmandu.
Space means different things to different people. For the theatre artists, who are always in search of a space to stage their next play, having a space of their own is like having found a home. The Saturday event was in celebration of the attainment of the same -space.
Ashesh Malla and Dr. Sabitri Malla Kakshapati - the husband-wife-duo took it upon themselves to erect a building dedicated to art.
The event was part presentation and part staging of the play "Sakuni Pasaharu" - a modern twist to the mythological Mahabharata.
Sarwanam's Director Ashesh Malla is the play writer and director of the play which is a representative of the ill infecting the good in the world.
"Sakuni Pasaharu" will be staged everyday from 1. April to 24. April at 5:30 pm at Sarwanam Theatre.
